Group Therapy

 

 

Group work is powerful stuff.

Group therapy is a unique form of psychotherapy where individuals come together under the guidance of a professional therapist to work on their individual goals. In my groups, members address a wide range of personal and relational issues including but not limited to: anger, distrust, communication, shame, anxiety, depression, assertiveness, shyness and confidence. You'll learn how to identify as well as manage your triggers in a safe and supportive atmosphere. You will be given the opportunity to experience how others are impacted by your behaviors and way of relating. Aside from the benefit of lower cost, the group experience allows you to pay attention to how earlier life experiences as well as present relationships unconsciously affect your life.

I work hard to ensure that group is a healthy experience for all members.
First, I meet with every potential member individually before they join
the group. In these meetings I assess if one can benefit from the group,
if the group is right for the individual and then prepare them to use the group most effectively. I ask that group members do not have contact outside the group to ensure confidentiality and maintain honesty.
My groups are offered in the evening and I limit their size to six members.
